Who We Are

Silver Rays Initiative for Hope & Community Development (SRIHCD) is a community-based organization established in 2017 and officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/8476141).

We are dedicated to addressing socio-economic and health inequalities through programs that empower individuals, build community resilience, and promote inclusive, stigma-free healthcare.

Our Work

HIV Care & Treatment

We provide HIV prevention, testing, care, and treatment services in collaboration with public health facilities to ensure stigma-free service delivery.

STI Diagnosis & Treatment

Promoting sexual health and wellness through: Comprehensive STI screening and treatment. Safer sex education and commodity distribution. Awareness campaigns for early detection

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

We address the emotional wellbeing of individuals through: Confidential counseling sessions. Peer-support groups. Referral pathways for specialized care

Advocacy & Systems Strengthening

Our advocacy efforts aim to institutionalize inclusive healthcare through: Stakeholder and policy engagement. Training healthcare providers on non-discriminatory practices. Promoting rights-based health policies

Programs & Initiatives

Quality and Inclusive Healthcare Training

SRIHCD organized a 5-day capacity-building workshop for Primary Health Care Workers in Abia State to strengthen inclusive health practices for LGBTQ+ clients.

Joint Supportive Supervision

In partnership with the Abia State Ministry of Health and ABSACA, SRIHCD led facility visits across Abia to improve service quality and inclusivity in HIV, STI, and mental health care.

Quarterly Team Bonding

Our quarterly team get-together fosters staff motivation, mental wellbeing, and collaboration — ensuring our team remains inspired and united in delivering impact.

Community Medical Outreaches

From 2018–2024, SRIHCD conducted several outreach programs across Delta, Bayelsa, and Abia States, providing free medical checkups, HIV testing, and eyeglasses to thousands of beneficiaries.

THE CEO PROFILE

Nicholas Ugbenyen

Nicholas Ugbenyen is the Chief Executive Director of Silver Rays Initiative for Hope and Community Development (SRIHCD). From Delta State, Nigeria, Nicholas has always been driven by a deep passion for improving lives and promoting sustainable community development.
A graduate and seasoned public health professional, he brings over 15 years of progressive experience in public health programming, community engagement, and development initiatives across Nigeria.
Through his visionary leadership and extensive professional background, Nicholas has worked with several renowned organizations, playing a key role in the design and implementation of impactful health programs. His expertise and strategic networks have positioned SRIHCD to attract and deliver major development projects that address critical community needs.
Committed to continuous learning, Nicholas is currently pursuing a postgraduate program, further strengthening his ability to drive meaningful and lasting change within the communities he serves.
